Our XL Blowpoke 47″ is a good size for tending Bigger Fires and Deeper Fireplaces where you need extra reach. It’s good for reaching across Wider Hearths, and for bigger Fire Pits. For me, its real advantage is its combination of Extra Stout Length and Better Handling.

The XL Blowpoke 47″ has a really Stout feel in your hands – a long and strong Fire Poker. And it’s complimented by the turbo AIR FLOW delivery. Holding it in my hands, gives me a strong sense of control over my fires. Not in a diabolical way. But in an “I get it” way. This blowpoker puts you pretty firmly in control of your fire’s other fuel. Besides the wood, your fire really needs – O2 – to give you the output you want – a better fire – leaping and spreading as it ignites the wood right where you aim the blowpoke.

With this blowpoke, your reach is extra long. AND because this blowpoke is light enough that you can extend your reach with just one hand. It is not as heavy as other “Extra Long” brass or iron blowpokes that are a just a little too heavy to hold at the hilt with one hand. With other 4 foot long blowpokes most people use two hands – with one hand way up – “choked up” toward the mid-point – effectively reducing your reach by almost half.

Our XL Blow Pokes and our XXL Blowpokers are not simply longer. Our longer tube is proportionally larger around, making them proportionally stronger. So our XL & XXL are built around a proportionally Larger and Stronger tapered cro-moly steel tube. Meaning that you get an XL Blow Poke that is long enough and strong enough to handle bigger firewood and larger fires. And it gives you an extra long taper-focused Turbo Air-Fuel-Feeder. That’s hyperbole for: it really blows!

The XL Black Blow Poke 47″ delivers all the benefits and advantages you get with our original length Black Blowpoke – except a bit longer, stronger and weightier. The XL Blow Poke 47″ has a similar range of handling characteristics but on a bigger scale. You can still grip it with One-Hand at the hilt. You can also “choke up” to better balance your grip. Two-Hands on the XL Blow Poke 47″ gives you more Leverage, Reach and Strength with just a little more weight.

And with the added length you get a more Set-Back from larger fires.

FIREPLACE SIZE:  The XL Blow Poke fits Larger Fireplaces, Deeper Fireplaces, and it reaches across wider Hearths. We also recommend the XL Size for tending fires with extra large pieces of firewood. If you’re wrestling with 2-footers, large splits, large rounds, you’ll appreciate the extra length, strength and leverage the XL Blowpoke gives you.

MATERIALS:  4130 Chrome Molybdenum alloy steel tapered tubing. Solid Steel poker tip, Solid Brass mouthpiece.

CONSTRUCTION:  The cromoly steel tube is tapered for focused strength. And it is Plasma Welded to fuse the tube inside the half inch thick steel Poker Tip. You can’t make it any stronger, or any more durable.

FINISH:  Matte Black – Industrial Strength high-temperature electrostatic epoxy coating is baked on. The color matches other black fireplace tools and toolsets. Especially toolsets with brass accents. And the solid Brass Mouthpiece is buffed to a polished luster.
