It’s our Jack of All Trade Offs

The FirePipe Blowpoker 36 is great for helping you get your fires started. The AIR FLOW from the blowpoker will give you all you need to start the fire. And later you can give it a quick boost, maybe to get a couple of new logs to blaze quicker. So, imagine you’ve already stoked your fire pit, and you’re waiting on your Cajun Smoker. It’s the kind with the twin stacked grill racks – but your smoker needs a refill of water way down in the Steamer Bowl under the two full grills.  No problem, your FirePipe can slide through both of the grill grates and work like a long funnel. Just pour right into the mouthpiece.* And get back to relaxing at your fire pit. It’s all good.

And If you love to BBQ, the Firepipe 36 will be your new best friend. The new Poker tip is slender and straight – and just the right size – to fit right between BBQ grill grates. So if you want to boost the braise, you can aim through the grate and direct your AIR FEED right where you want it to boost the flames, and easily make it happen. It also makes it really easy to lift a hot grill for adding more firewood or briquettes if you need to. And though you save money, it doesn’t include a wall Hanger Kit. Trade offs.

The FirePipe works just like a fireplace blowpoke, except that at 36″ it’s just a little shorter than most blowpokes. But it is even easier to handle. It’s a trade off I can live with because it works so well with my other fires. And it’s AIR BLOWING Performance is terrific, just like all the other Vineyard Firetools. Besides, I’m a firm believer that any blowpoke is better than no blowpoke.

Strength-wise, I’ll take the Vineyard Firetools’ cromoly steel’s strength any day. It’s the kind of strength that’s ready for any job and every adventure. I know I can depend on it not to fail, and to get the job done. Starting, Stoking and Tending my Fires.

*Before using your firepipe blowpoker to funnel liquid, We recommend you prep your FirePipe. I prepped mine by flushing it inside with cooking oil first – to protect it from rusting. Cooking oils work great and doesn’t leave an industrial smell.

New Poker Tip

The FirePipe’s big difference was the new poker tip. Instead of our original classic – a larger “through-hole” design. We’ve responded to customer requests for our classic poker tip for our Medium Sized Blowpoke. The new FirePipe’s poker tip is also TIG Welding to create that unified steel bond to the tapered cromoly tube. And the overall feeling in your hand is remarkable as you’d expect from a shorter tool. But it is surprising, because you are also getting a feeling of solid-steel fire poker handling, confidence and dexterity.

The new Poker Tip is vey adept at opening Air Gaps to increase AIR FLOW for combustion. And it is very handy at maneuvering wood: Push, Pull, Lift and Move Firewood Tending is a very easy with this Handy fire poker.

I love using it in my fireplace with another Blowpoke in my other hand. Holding two at a time I can lift logs to restack the fire.

Solid Brass Mouthpiece

You get the same buff polished solid brass mouthpiece as all other Vineyard Firetools. Keep that in mind if you’re considering another brand of 36″ blowpoker. Because according to comments I’ve read, and photos I’ve seen, the other 36″ fire blower has issues with the 2-part brass mouthpiece breaking where it is soldered together. A solid brass mouthpiece offers you a major advantage. It can not break off if it falls over. And that’s guaranteed.

Quality Finish

Also according to the reviews I’ve seen, the other 36″ fire blowpoke earned complaints for its”quick release black paint that started chipping off in the shipping box”. Our FirePipe’s got the same durable finish as the other Vineyard Firetools. It’s a baked-on industrial strength high-temperature epoxy coating over sandblasted clean steel. The finish will not chip.

No Wall Hanger

One way to lower the cost to you is to not add the Wall Mount Hanger. It’s 36″ size also makes it easy to fit against your Fireplace Toolsets without causing a problem. And if you want a Hanger, you can get it.

Summary

The FirePipe 36 is shorter than most classic blowpokes. But it works really well for a lot of different types of fires. And it’s only just a bit short for most fireplaces. You get:

• the same AIR BLOWING Performance,
• the same cromoly steel strength,
• the same Solid Brass Mouthpiece,
• and the same durable finish as all the bigger and longer Vineyard Firetools Blowpokers.
• And you get even easier handling, and is comes without a hanger.

If all that works for you, and it is the right size for your fires, please consider getting one.

Conclusion: I’m a firm believer in getting the right size – the best size – for your fires. And we’ll admit this 36″ size is shorter than our recommended Size L 41″ – that’s a great fit for most Average Sized fireplaces (both Raised Hearth and Floor Level Fireplaces). But  36″ is close. But if you’re set on buying a cheaper 36″ blowpoker, I’ll bet dollars to donuts that this firepipe will do it all better than other low priced pokes… guaranteed.
